The color of the stones
From the museum to the cities of Brescia and Bergamo
The project The color of the stones is part of the BergamoBrescia2023 programming, as a proposal to discover hidden treasures, works of art created, between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with the technique of inlaying semi-precious stones. The Casa Museo of the Fondazione Paolo e Carolina Zani owns one of the absolute works created with this technique: a table with an octagonal top created in the Galleria dei Lavori (Opificio delle Pietre dure in Florence) with the use of the Medici private collection of semi-precious stones, granted by Grand Duke Cosimo III.
The project is divided into three distinct proposals:
Concerts
The Casa Museo of the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation, in collaboration with the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo, offer three concerts dedicated to Baroque music. The Casa Museo Zani and two churches involved in the visit itinerary “The color of the stones” are also the venue for musical moments in which Baroque music dialogues with the masterpieces of art for a new cultural use of the places themselves.
